FIRE BAN IN PLACE (Nov 1, 2025)
  • With the end of the official fire season taking place October 31 and extreme dry fire conditions being experienced, Ponoka County Regional Fire Services has found it necessary to impose a Fire Ban within their response area (Ponoka County, Town of Rimbey, Town of Ponoka and Summer Village of Parkland Beach) effective November 1st, 2025.

The lack of moisture, on-going fire hazard and forecasted warm windy conditions is causing conditions which may pose a risk to life and property. The conditions have escalated outside fire responses by both Fire Departments.

The County-wide fire ban includes anything that produces an open flame such as burning barrels, backyard fire pits/rings, fireworks, etc. However, at present, the ban does not apply to gas fuelled equipment such as a propane barbecue. The ban will be reviewed and changed as conditions improve.

We thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our municipality safe!
